Back in 2014 I had achieved a lot academically whilst doing my undergraduate degree at Imperial College London where I studied Biology. When I was doing my degree, I realised really quickly that I did not want a research-based career, especially one that was based in a lab. I found myself confused and lost about what options I had and in a cycle of applying for any graduate scheme I could find.
After multiple applications and rejections, I realised there are certain skills science graduates need to develop in order to land pretty much any job they want outside the lab. After figuring this out, I:
•Got on a Future Leaders Programme in a Big Pharma company
•Made a career transition a few years later into Research Funding using my existing work experience
•Was then headhunted for my dream job at a medical research charity
